Since early 1990s, I've worked in print journalism as a freelance writer/photographer. Prior to this, I worked as a F/L for Hansard Westminster Palace for 25 years. My features have appeared in national dailies and consumer magazines. Seven books have been published, several in second edition. I love history, folklore and gardening and was a Guild of Gardening member for many years. exhibiting in Essex Shows. I'm a member of the British Folklore Society based at University College London.

I've been lucky enough to win eight major press awards for writing, including Freelance Writer of the Year in 1998 (Writers' News) and the SWWJ Scholarship in 2009. My weekly columns continue for Newsquest South East England. I regularly contributed short stories and articles to the first national magazine for the Botswanan S' adia, edited by Comfort Smith.

As Archivist for the Society of Women Writers & Journalists following 4 years as their Publicist, I am now vice-president of the Brentwood Writers' Circle founded in 1941. Numerous colleagues contribute to Suite 101 and I was the subject of Solange Hando's feature as the author of THE WOMAN WRITER which studies the history of the Society of Women Writers & Journalists from its foundation in 1894 to date. Some of the world's most distinguished women writers and poets, many of them American, can be found in my book which also celebrates the centenary of one of our most famous Presidents, Joyce Grenfell (1910-1979).

Over the last year or so, I've written for Suite in 83 sections. Past projects include contributions to one of the first on-line magazines London Essence creating travel features, regular commissioned features looking at how to saving money in the home and in the business world.
